Aesthetic Dentistry Procedures at Prodent

Do you dream of a straight, healthy smile? At Prodent Gdańsk clinic, we offer comprehensive orthodontic treatment that combines the experience of our specialists with modern technologies. Thanks to this, every patient receives a plan tailored to their needs, and treatment results are predictable and lasting. Our offer includes both traditional orthodontic appliances and transparent orthodontic aligners that are discreet and comfortable.

Porcelain Veneers – Smile Transformation

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells (0.3-0.7 mm) cemented to the labial surface of teeth, completely changing their appearance. We make them from E-max porcelain with exceptional translucency that perfectly imitates natural enamel. For the highest demands, we offer premium veneers layered on platinum foil.

The process begins with a consultation and facial aesthetic analysis, followed by digital planning in the DSD system. The technician prepares a motivational wax-up – a wax model that you try in your mouth as a mock-up. You approve the shape before starting the actual treatment.

We use veneers to change unaesthetic color, correct shape, close gaps, rebuild broken edges, and lengthen worn teeth. In many cases, non-prep veneers without enamel grinding are possible. Durability: 15-20 years, often significantly longer.

Composite Bonding – Quick Correction in One Visit

Bonding is a direct method of tooth reconstruction using the highest quality composites, performed by an experienced doctor in one visit. At Prodent, we use premium materials from Enamel Plus, which are characterized by excellent aesthetics and durability. Bonding is an ideal solution for people who want to quickly improve the appearance of their smile without lengthy procedures and tooth preparation.

This method works particularly well for minor corrections of tooth shape and color, closing diastemas and interdental gaps, rebuilding broken or cracked incisal edges after trauma, and as a complement to orthodontic treatment when teeth are already straight but require shape correction. We also use bonding to lengthen slightly worn teeth and mask discolorations that do not require full veneers.

Teeth Whitening – Lightening by Several Shades

Professional Beyond lamp whitening lightens teeth by 6-8 shades in 60-90 minutes. For maximum effect, we recommend combined whitening (office + home trays). We always precede with hygienization 7-14 days earlier. After the procedure, a white diet is required for 48-72 hours. The effect lasts several months. Completely safe for enamel.

Gingivoplasty – Gummy Smile Correction

Sometimes beautiful, healthy teeth are excessively covered by gums, creating the effect of a so-called gummy smile. This disproportion between the length of visible tooth crowns and the amount of visible gums disrupts the aesthetic harmony of the smile and is often a source of complexes. At Prodent, we perform gum correction procedures that allow us to reveal full tooth crowns and achieve a harmonious, beautiful smile according to the golden proportions of aesthetics.

Gingivoplasty is laser correction of “gummy smile.” Precise, painless, with a 3D template. In advanced cases, gingivoosteoplasty (gum + bone correction). Permanent effect – gums do not grow back.

Injection Flow Technique – Quick Tooth Lengthening

Injection flow technique is an innovative method that allows for quick and simultaneous lengthening of many worn or cracked teeth using flow-type composite and special silicone trays. This technique finds particular application as a complement to functional treatment in cases of masticatory system rehabilitation and as a temporary solution in treating temporomandibular joint disorders. It allows for quick change of tooth shape and color without drilling and preparation.

The process begins with creating a wax-up on a plaster model by a dental technician who designs the target tooth shape. Based on this, a silicone tray is prepared, which we then fill with flow-type composite and apply to the patient’s teeth. After the material hardens and the tray is removed, the teeth are lengthened and have improved shape. The entire procedure is completely painless, requires no anesthesia, and is repeatable.

Aesthetic Composite Fillings

Aesthetic composite fillings at Prodent are much more than ordinary fillings. We place them with particular care, in isolation of the operating field using a rubber dam, using high-quality composites from renowned companies such as Enamel Plus, Gaenial, or Gradia. These fillings have replicated full tooth surface anatomy with cusps and grooves, are perfectly integrated with enamel, and are virtually invisible.

Thanks to precision execution and the use of premium materials, such fillings last for many years, often 5-15 years depending on location and masticatory loads. They are particularly indicated for medium and large carious cavities when we want to preserve as much healthy tooth tissue as possible. Latest-generation composites are characterized by excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance, and color stability – they do not change shade over years of use.

Inlay and Onlay – Durable Porcelain Restorations

Inlays and onlays are porcelain or composite partial tooth restorations made in a dental laboratory by a technician, providing an ideal solution for large cavities in posterior teeth. At Prodent, we make them from E-max porcelain or zirconium oxide, in some cases from special laboratory composite. After fabrication, they are cemented by the doctor on composite cements in a rubber dam, thanks to which the durability of this type of restoration is 20 to 25 years.

An inlay fills a cavity inside the tooth without covering its masticatory cusps. An onlay also rebuilds cusps and a larger part of the masticatory surface, and an overlay covers the entire masticatory surface including the tooth’s lateral walls. The advantages of these restorations are primarily ideal anatomy of the tooth’s masticatory surface providing excellent occlusal contacts, ideal marginal seal ensuring many years of durability and protection against secondary caries, perfectly matched color to other teeth or color change at the patient’s request, and proper contact points between adjacent teeth preventing food debris from entering.

Aesthetic Implants in the Anterior Zone

Dental implants replace missing teeth in the most natural way, are physiological, durable, and effective. They provide a sense of comfort, enable proper pronunciation, effective food chewing, and support the contour of lips and cheeks, preventing facial collapse. In the case of the aesthetic zone, i.e., anterior teeth, they are an ideal and most desired prosthetic solution.

Sometimes, in cases of gum and soft tissue deficiency and disrupted pink aesthetics, microsurgical procedures such as soft tissue grafts are necessary for their reconstruction and achieving a harmonious appearance. At Prodent, aesthetics is as important as function – in our daily work, we seek the best solutions to achieve harmonious beauty in patients. Analysis, planning, and implementation of predictable, lasting results are our strength.

Aesthetic Treatment Process at Prodent

Smile transformation is a thoughtful, multi-stage process that at Prodent Gdańsk we base on digital technologies and an individual approach to each patient. We do not start with drilling or preparation – we start with thoroughly understanding your expectations, analyzing facial proportions, and digitally designing your future smile. Thanks to DSD systems and Bellus 3D scanning, you see the final result even before starting treatment and can approve it or introduce corrections. Every stage is precisely planned, and the entire workflow is fully digital – from Medit i500 scanning, through design in Exoplan and Exocad programs, to collaboration with the best Preci Lab laboratory. This guarantees predictability, comfort, and spectacular results.

1. Consultation and Analysis
The first step is a detailed consultation during which we thoroughly understand your expectations and needs. We take a complete set of intraoral and portrait photographs, perform facial aesthetic and proportion analysis, and evaluate gum and tooth harmony. We scan the dentition using 3Shape and iTero scanners and analyze models along with X-ray images. This is the foundation for further planning.
2. Digital Smile Planning
Based on collected data, we design your future smile in the Digital Smile Design (DSD) program. We use Bellus 3D facial scanning, which provides a three-dimensional image. The dental technician prepares a motivational wax-up – a wax model of future teeth, which you then try in your mouth as a mock-up. You can evaluate the shape, introduce corrections, and approve the final appearance before starting actual treatment. Thanks to this, you are certain that the result will be exactly as you expect.
3. Implementation
Once you approve the design, we proceed to implementation. If tooth preparation is required, we perform it minimally invasively. Throughout the process, you wear aesthetic provisionals that protect prepared teeth and allow normal functioning. We collaborate with the best technicians from Preci Lab, who execute final work according to the digital design. We conduct work trials, check fit, color, and shape, and after your final approval, we perform cementation or bonding of final restorations.
4. Post-Prosthetic Care
After completing treatment, we thoroughly instruct you on proper care of new restorations. We establish a schedule of follow-up visits and regular professional hygienization, which is crucial for long-lasting results. We remain in contact with you and are available for any questions or concerns.

FAQ – Aesthetic Dentistry

1. How does aesthetic dentistry differ from regular treatment?
Aesthetic dentistry goes beyond restoring health and function – it focuses on harmony, beauty, and naturalness of the entire smile in the context of facial proportions. We use DSD, Bellus 3D scanning, and golden proportions. It requires medical knowledge, precision, and artistic sense from the doctor, as well as collaboration with the best technicians.
2. Do veneers require tooth grinding?
Usually we remove a thin layer of enamel 0.3-0.7 mm. In many cases, we perform non-prep veneers without grinding or with minimal preparation. The decision is individual after analysis. Even standard preparation is a conservative procedure compared to crowns.
3. How long does a smile transformation take?
A transformation with veneers on 10-12 teeth takes 4-6 weeks and 4-6 visits: consultation, design, mock-up, preparation, fittings, cementation. If additionally whitening – +2-3 weeks, gingivoplasty – +2-4 weeks. Bonding or whitening can be done in one visit.
4. Does whitening harm enamel?
No. Professional whitening under dental supervision is completely safe. Peroxide does not damage mineral structure. Temporary sensitivity may occur for 1-3 days. Before the procedure, we exclude contraindications. Unprofessional drugstore preparations can be harmful.
5. Can everyone have porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are an excellent solution for most patients, but there are certain conditions and contraindications. First of all, you must have healthy teeth and gums – before placing veneers, we treat all caries, sanitize periodontal diseases, and perform professional hygienization. Veneers are not a solution for teeth destroyed by caries or broken below the gum line. A relative contraindication is severe bruxism (teeth grinding) – in such cases, you must wear a protective splint at night to protect veneers from excessive forces. Incorrect bite, especially deep or crossbite, may require orthodontic treatment first for optimal results. Veneers are not recommended for very young people (under 18 years old) whose teeth and jaw are still developing. If you have very thin enamel, severely damaged teeth, or large fillings, full ceramic crowns may be a better solution than veneers. During a consultation at Prodent, we thoroughly evaluate your case and propose the most appropriate solution – sometimes it is a combination of different methods: veneers, crowns, and bonding to achieve a harmonious result.
6. How long do aesthetic restorations last?
E-max veneers: 15-20 years, often 25-30 years. Bonding: 3-7 years. Composite fillings: 5-15 years. Inlay/onlay: 15-25 years. Whitening: 6-12 months. Care is crucial: brushing 2x/day, dental floss, check-ups every 6 months, hygienization every 4-6 months, avoiding very hard products, splint for bruxism.
7. Can whitening be combined with other procedures?
Yes! Typical scenario: hygienization → whitening lower and posterior teeth → wait 1-2 weeks → veneers on upper anterior teeth matched to whitened color. We do not whiten teeth that will be covered with veneers. We do fillings and bonding AFTER whitening. Gingivoplasty at any time. With Invisalign, you can whiten during treatment, with traditional braces – after removal.
8. Is it only about appearance or also health?
Aesthetic dentistry is a balance between beauty, health, and function. Before aesthetic procedures, we treat caries, sanitize gums, and evaluate bite. Veneers not only improve appearance but protect against wear and strengthen teeth. Gingivoplasty facilitates hygiene. Implants restore chewing function and prevent bone loss.
9. How to care for veneers?
You do not need to change habits, but: for 48-72 hours after cementation, avoid very hard products; daily, do not bite ice, nuts in shells, pits, do not open bottles with teeth. With bruxism, use a protective splint. E-max porcelain is resistant to discoloration, but limit coffee/wine/cigarettes. Brushing 2x/day, floss, check-ups, hygienization every 4-6 months. With proper care, 20+ years.
10. Is aesthetic dentistry only cosmetic?

No! It is a comprehensive approach combining medicine, aesthetics, and function. First, we ensure health, proper bite, and chewing function. A beautiful smile must also be healthy and functional. Veneers protect teeth, gingivoplasty facilitates hygiene, implants restore chewing, orthodontics corrects bite. At Prodent, aesthetic dentistry = beauty + health + comfort.
